Group video calling works the same way. Each participant connects directly to the others rather than through a central media server, which improves privacy, resilience and performance — and if one connection is interrupted, only that connection is affected while the rest of the group keeps talking.
Group messaging and group voice calls are protected with securely shared AES-256 keys, so only approved members can access the conversation. Behind a VPN, where your IP address can change mid-call, the call and its quality carry on unaffected.

Self-Destructing Messages
Set a message to be removed automatically and permanently after a chosen period, or the moment it has been viewed. It reduces the risk of sensitive information sitting on a device indefinitely, and adds another layer of protection to confidential conversations.
Once a message has self-destructed there is no trace and no data trail. It is gone for good. Where conventional platforms retain extensive message histories, VantaChat is designed to minimise how much sensitive information persists at all.

VantaChat is a true peer-to-peer, serverless communications platform. Messages, voice calls and video calls travel directly between authorised devices — never through a conventional central messaging server, and never into a central repository of private communications.

A lightweight Network Switch helps devices hold their direct connection when networks change. It handles only encrypted data and can never read or process the content of a conversation.
If a recipient is offline, the encrypted message waits with the Network Switch for up to 48 hours — never written to a central database — and is removed the moment delivery completes.
Messages held by the Network Switch for an offline recipient stay encrypted throughout, can only be opened by the person they were sent to, and are removed automatically once delivery is complete — or after 48 hours at most.
